Thanks for visiting our website.  We look forward to seeing you at the Bowie Old Farm Show.

The Bowie Old Farm Reunion, Inc. was organized in 2007 for the purpose of preserving the history, farming methods and family life of our ancestors.  We conduct an old farm show each year at the Bowie Farm in Iva, SC on the first Saturday of  October.  We welcome you to join our activities.  Farming field demonstrations with livestock and antique farm equipment take place along with a grand display of antique tractors, hit and miss engines, and other old farm equipment at the Thomason Bowie museum.  We have horse shows for all ages, gospel singing, wagon rides, and colonial activities like blacksmithing and quilt making.  We also make  surup, grits, and corn meal the old-timey way.  Chlidren's activities include inflatables, a barrel train ride and milking.  We plan to reserve space for antique dealers at upcoming shows.  Vendors are welcome.

Thanks to an excellent team of volunteers, a new 16X20 foot covered music stage was built over the past few weeks. Down cedar and popular trees were chain sawed in the woods close to the riding trails and transported to the new ground across from the museum where Harold Crane’s sawmill was used to cut the lumber for construction.  We sincerely thank the following people and others who contributed to this fantastic project: David Rainey, Harold Crane, Dan Ertzberger, Tim Rainey, Ken Jordan, Johnny Pierce, Josh Holden, and Barry Davis.

Water faucets:

Occasionally some of our guests forget and leave the water faucets turned on after watering their horses and our water bill skyrockets.  You are welcome to the water but please turn it off after you finish.  Thanks.
